A large crew of 12 adults and 11 kids (ranging in age from 9 months to 5 years) headed off to Chickering bog in search of swamp monsters. The trail, which follows a VAST trail for most of the way, was still snow-covered. In places, heavier folks post-holed, and most feet came away muddy and wet. Hooray for mud season! We never made it to the bog trail (which by all accounts was difficult, snowy walking, and positively crawling with monsters!) We had a lovely sunny lunch in an open meadow, and headed home.
