A group of 20 (11 parents and 9 kiddos) explored Chickering Bog in Calais on a crisp fall day. We spotted lots of colorful caterpillars and mushrooms along the way. We had a nice snack break sitting on the boardwalk at the bog, watching and listening to the sights and sounds. We were fascinated by the insect-eating pitcher plants in particular. We took our time exploring and everyone returned in good spirits.
