work hike on LT/BRT After receiving reports of trees down on the trail below Duxbury Window, I put together a group (two with chainsaws) of of four volunteers to clear them. The one next to the bench at the window was very large and we decided to cut down the root ball to allow the trail a short (4')detour around the detour. Not having the proper dirt tools with us, we used sharpened stakes to knock soil off of the ball allowing a 2' wide trail. When we return in October we will widen to 4' and stabilize. Hikers traveling north said there were no trail problems. Eric Seidel |
