Bike ride to Waterville Ever been to Waterville? I didn't think so. Few people have, including most of the bikers who rode with us in September. We got there by following busy Route 15 west from Johnson to Jeffersonville. There we did a jog on 108 before following quiet, scenic Route 109 on the north side of the Lamoille River to Waterville. This little peaceful town has a big green with picnic tables where we ate lunch in the sun under abundant apple trees. Having watched a mother and her child on the playground for a while, we wanted to play, too. So, we climbed the two seesaws, and went for a different kind of ride. Getting on and off is not as easy as you might think. On the way back to Johnson on Hogback Road, we stopped at the Long Trail suspension bridge across the Lamoille: those who had not seen the six-year old bridge were duly impressed. Reidun Nuquist
